A Single Malt Scotch whisky produced on the remote Isle Of Jura off the west coast of Scotland, an island with a deer population that outnumbers its human inhabitants by roughly 30 to one. The distillery, established in 1810 and rebuilt in the 1960s, is one of the most isolated in Scotland and uses particularly tall stills to produce a relatively light and approachable style of island whisky with gentle coastal notes and a honeyed sweetness that distinguishes it from the heavily peated malts of neighbouring Islay.
